Today’s Queens Solution
Queen positions (row, column): R1C4, R2C6, R3C1, R4C7, R5C2, R6C8, R7C3, R8C5.
How to Solve Today’s Queens
- Place the queen in the smallest region first; only one of its squares survives the row and column rules.
- Mark every square touching that queen (including diagonals) as blocked.
- Find the two regions that are confined to the same two rows and reserve those rows for them.
- Fill the remaining rows top to bottom: each has a single legal square left.
